Operative Procedures Hepatic Artery in Liver Transplantation

چکیده
ADVANCES in surgical techniques have contributed to the improved results of orthotopic liver transplantation (OLT x) that have been realized over the last few years.1 Examples include better understanding of anomalies of the hepatic arterial supply, development of methods of reconstructing them, and the use of vascular grafts and other innovative techniques of revascularization. Nonetheless, -10% of liver grafts still are lost from arterial complications.2 In this report, we describe our experience with the management and complications of the hepatic artery (HA) in the donors and recipients of 231 liver grafts procured and transplanted at the University of Pittsburgh.

Hepatic artery reconstruction in living donor liver transplantation from the microsurgeon's point of view.
Microvascular surgery for the reconstruction of the hepatic artery in living donor liver transplantation is discussed from the microsurgeon's point of view. A refined operative procedure to improve the safety of the anastomosis is described. In living donor liver transplantation, the hepatic artery of the graft is short and small, the operative site is deep and mobile, and the anatomic arrangem...
متن کاملMicrovascular Hepatic Artery Reconstruction in Living Donor Liver Transplantation
Even with the recent technical advances in the surgical procedures used for living donor liver transplantation (LDLT), hepatic artery reconstruction is still one of the most difficult procedures in LDLT (Matsuda et al., 2006; Eguchi et al., 2008). Because hepatic artery complications in liver transplantation, such as hepatic artery thrombosis (HAT) or hepatic artery dissection (HAD), often lead...
متن کاملHepatic artery variations: a case report
Introduction The anatomy of the hepatic artery is of great clinical significance in all hepato-biliary surgeries including liver transplants. Recently, due to the rapid increase in the number of liver transplants and laparoscopic cholecystectomy the importance of hepatic artery anatomy has become apparent. In liver transplants appropriate evaluation of hepatic arteries is essential for reducing...
متن کاملVariations in the origin of middle hepatic artery: a cadaveric study and implications for living donor liver transplantation
Living donor liver transplantation has been associated with severe vascular complications like hepatic artery thrombosis, which commonly involves the hepatic segment 4. Most authors have defined the artery to this segment as the middle hepatic artery. The present study was undertaken to characterize the origin of middle hepatic artery and classify the variations observed in cadaveric livers, an...
متن کاملSurvival and Treatment Responses of Hepatic Arterial Infusion Chemotherapy for Advanced Hepatocellular Carcinoma
Hepatocellular carcinoma is known to be the majorcause of death of patients with liver cirrhosis [3,4]. There are a number of treatment options including surgical interventions such as hepatic resection, liver transplantation, and non-surgical interventions such as the transcatheter arterial chemoembolization (TACE), the regional hepatic artery infusion chemotherapy (HAIC), the percutaneous eth...
متن کاملHepatic artery pseudoaneurysm after liver transplantation: a case report
Background: The most common hepatic artery complications after Liver Transplantation (LT) are hepatic artery stenosis, thrombosis and pseudoaneurysm, which can all cause ischemia in the grafted liver. As one of the main complications, the Hepatic Artery Pseudoaneurysm (HAP) is rare with the incidence of about 2%, but its consequence may be most devastating or even fatal. Methods: Here, we prese...
